George Ivar Louis Mountbatten, 4th Marquess of Milford Haven, styled Earl of Medina before 1970, is a British hereditary peer and businessman. Lieutenant David Michael Mountbatten, 3rd Marquess of Milford Haven ,, styled Viscount Alderney before 1921 and Earl of Medina between 1921 and 1938, was the son of George Mountbatten, 2nd Marquess of Milford Haven and Countess Nadejda Mikhailovna of Torby.

In 1917, he renounced his German titles to become Louis Mountbatten, Marquess of Milford-Haven, Earl of Medina and Viscount Alderney. He refused a dukedom from George V because he was concerned that his income was not large enough to entertain or live as a duke was expected to.
David retired from the Royal Navy on 8th July 1948 and became a prominent member of London's society throughout the 1950s. David was best man at the wedding of his cousin - Lt. Philip Mountbatten, later Prince Philip, 1st Duke of Edinburgh (1921-2021) to Princess Elizabeth, later Queen Elizabeth II (1926(1952-2022), the eldest daughter and Heiress Presumptive of King George VI (1895(1936-1952).

She married Prince George of Battenberg, later the 2nd Marquess of Milford Haven, in London, England, on 15 November 1916. They had two children: Lady Tatiana Elizabeth Mountbatten (16 December 1917 – 15 May 1988), who died unmarried, and David Michael Mountbatten, 3rd Marquess of Milford Haven (12 May 1919 – 14 April 1970), father of the present Marquess.
Tatiana was born on 16th December 1917 in Edinburgh, Scotland. She was the first child and only daughter of George, 2nd Marquess of Milford Haven (1892-1938) and Countess Nadejda 'Nada' Mikhailovna de Torby (1896-1963). From birth she was styled The Lady Tatiana Mountbatten.
