  3. George Onslow. George Onslow was an Anglo-French composer / pianist of the classical period. He was born on 27 July 1784 to an English father and a French mother in Clermont-Ferrand. He was a student of Anton Reicha and studied piano with Johann Baptist Cramer in London. George Onslow died on 3 October 1853 in Clermont-Ferrand.

  7. 30 de dic. de 2018 · Onslow (1784-1853) did not break any new ground, at least so far as I can tell from the several pieces I’ve heard, which was likely the reason for the decline in his reputation over time. However, he certainly was a composer who knew what he was about, and so having played through this one work, I look forward to acquainting myself with more of his work.
