Georgiana Houghton (1814–1884) was a British artist and spiritualist medium. [1] Biography. Grave of Georgiana Houghton in Highgate Cemetery. Houghton was born in 1814 in Spain, [2] in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, but later moved to London. She produced her first abstract works, then referred to as 'spirit' drawings, in 1859 at private séances.
Georgiana Houghton Biography. Georgiana Houghton (1814-84) was born to British parents on April 20th 1814 in Las Palmas, Gran Canaria. She was the seventh of twelve children (two died in infancy) of Mary Warrand and George Houghton who was a foreign merchant.
