As an assistant to Cimabue, Giotto is believed to have worked on projects in Florence and other places in Tuscany, and in Rome. Later, he also traveled to Naples and Milan.

Biografia Origini Targa sulla casa natale di Giotto a Vespignano. Giotto nacque a Colle di Vespignano, un borgo situato nella valle del Mugello (oggi una frazione del comune fiorentino di Vicchio), con ogni probabilità nel 1267, in una famiglia di piccoli possidenti terrieri (Bondone era appunto il padre) che, come tante altre famiglie toscane del secolo, si trasferì solo in seguito a Firenze.
