  1. Hace 3 días · In 1675, Giovanni Domenico Cassini determined that Saturn's ring was composed of multiple smaller rings with gaps between them; the largest of these gaps was later named the Cassini Division. This division is a 4,800-kilometre-wide (3,000 mi) region between the A ring and B Ring.

  2. Hace 2 días · The mission consisted of two main elements: the ASI/NASA Cassini orbiter, named for the Italian astronomer Giovanni Domenico Cassini, discoverer of Saturn's ring divisions and four of its satellites; and the ESA-developed Huygens probe, named for the Dutch astronomer, mathematician and physicist Christiaan Huygens, discoverer of Titan.

  3. 22 de abr. de 2024 · This phenomenon was investigated by the astronomer Giovanni Domenico Cassini in 1683. He explained Zodiacal light by interplanetary matter (dust) around the Sun according to Hugo Fechtig, Christoph Leinert, and Otto E. Berg in the book Interplanetary Dust.

  4. Hace 5 días · Giovanni Cassini. Giovanni Cassini produced his first lunar map in 1679 based on his observations at the Paris Observatory. Very few copies were made of the large map, but a smaller version was first published in 1692 in advance of a total eclipse of the Moon.

  6. Hace 5 días · Cassini is the largest interplanetary spacecraft ever constructed by NASA. It measures 6.8 m in length with a 4 m high gain antenna. At launch the spacecraft had a mass of 5,655 kg, of which 3,132 kg were propellant. Cassini is three-axis stabilized.
