Grote of Jacobijnerkerk (transl. Great, or Jacobin Church) is a Protestant church in the city of Leeuwarden, Netherlands. The square surrounding the church is the Jacobijnerkerkhof.
De Grote of Jacobijnerkerk in Leeuwarden is de grootste van de middeleeuwse kerken in deze stad. Geschiedenis. De kerk werd tussen 1275 en 1310 gebouwd als onderdeel van een dominicanenklooster en werd later vergroot. (Voor de Dominicanen werd ook de naam Jacobijnen gebruikt.) In 1392 werd de kerk bij een stadsbrand verwoest.

The Grote of Jacobijnerkerk (English: Great, or Jacobin Church) is the oldest building in the city. The 15th century was the period of the two opposing Frisian factional parties Vetkopers and Schieringers. The bastions and a moat were built in the period 1481–1494.
Het hoofdorgel in de Grote of Jacobijnerkerk te Leeuwarden is een historisch kerkorgel, dat wordt gerekend tot de belangrijkste ( barok) orgels van Nederland.
Een van de voornaamste bezienswaardigheden van Leeuwarden is de Grote of Jacobijnerkerk aan het Jacobijnerkerkhof. De bouw ervan is al voor 1300 begonnen en heeft tot na 1500 geduurd. Het is dan ook het oudste monument van de stad.
Grote of Jacobijnerkerk is the largest medieval church in Leeuwarden, built between 1275-1310. It was originally part of the Dominican abbey. It was badly damaged by fire in 1392. The large southern hall was added in the late 15th century and the nave enlarged in the early 16th century. The organs were made by famous Christian Müller in 1727.
