Gotinga (en alemán: Göttingen, pron.: [ˈɡœtɪŋən] ⓘ) es un municipio y una ciudad alemana, capital del distrito homónimo y situada en el Estado federado de Baja Sajonia. Está situada al sur de dicho estado, colindante con los estados de Hesse y Turingia.
Universidad de Gotinga. La Universidad de Gotinga ( Georg-August-Universität Göttingen, o Georgia Augusta) fue fundada en el año 1734 por Jorge II, príncipe elector de Hanóver y rey de Gran Bretaña.
