Actor, Comedian, Talent Agent. Milton Gummo Marx was born in New York City and was the fifth son of Minnie and Sam Marx. He joined his brothers Julius Groucho and Adolph Harpo in 1911 to become the vaudeville singing troupe the Three Nightingales.

Marx died in Hollywood, California, on May 10, 1933, from complications due to kidney failure, aged 73. He was survived by his brother-in-law Al Shean, sons Chico, Harpo, Groucho, Gummo and Zeppo Marx and grandchildren Maxine, Arthur, Miriam and Robert "Bob" Marx.

Gummo Marx died of a cerebral hemorrhage on April 21, 1977, at his home in Palm Springs, California. He is buried next to wife Helen at the Forest Lawn Memorial Park Cemetery in Glendale, California. His three grandsons all went into show business.
