Hamilton Fish II (April 17, 1849 – January 15, 1936) was an American lawyer and politician who served as Speaker of the New York State Assembly and a member of the United States House of Representatives. [1] Early life Fish was born in Albany, New York, on April 17, 1849, while his father was serving as Governor of New York. [2]

Battle of Las Guasimas. Hamilton Fish II (June 27, 1873 - June 24, 1898) was a wealthy New Yorker who was a member of a prominent Fish family. During the Spanish–American War he joined the Rough Riders in the invasion of Cuba, where he died in the Battle of Las Guasimas .

Hamilton Fish III (born Hamilton Stuyvesant Fish and also known as Hamilton Fish Jr.; December 7, 1888 – January 18, 1991) was an American soldier, author, and politician from New York. He represented New York's 26th congressional district in the Hudson Valley region in the United States House of Representatives from 1920 to 1945.

30 de abr. de 2022 · Hamilton Fish II, of the Rough Riders, a wealthy young New Yorker, was a Sergeant in the 1st United States Volunteer Cavalry Regiment, the Rough Riders, during the Spanish-American War. He is said to be the first American killed in the Battle of Las Guasimas, near Santiago, Cuba, on June 24, 1898.
