Hanns Eisler Biography. Hanns Eisler (6 July 1898 – 6 September 1962) was an Austrian composer. Eisler was born in Leipzig, the second son and third (youngest) child of Marie (née Fischer) and Rudolf Eisler, a professor of philosophy at Leipzig.
