Field Marshal Harold Alexander was one of the most prominent Allied of the Second World War. After serving in the campaigns in France Alexander commanded British and Allied forces in the victorious Africa and Italy. At war's end he was Supreme Allied Commander, and took the unconditional surrender of all German forces in Italy.
