Anthony Addington (1713 – 22 March 1790) was an English physician. Life [ edit ] Addington was born at Twyford , youngest son of Henry Addington (1659-1729), a gentleman who owned a "moderately sized" estate there, where the family had been settled for generations, and his second wife, Elizabeth (c. 1670-1746), daughter of Anthony and Joanna Watts, of Sulgrave , Northamptonshire . 13 de jun. de 2009 · In the 1752 English trial of Mary Blandy, who was accused of poisoning her father, medical examiner Anthony Addington tested white powder found at the bottom of a pan that had been used to serve gruel to the victim. Addington heated the powder and noticed the same garlicky smell as that of similarly tested arsenic.
