10 de may. de 2024 · Royston was purchased in 1770 by Thomas Brand and bequeathed by him to his grandson Thomas (Brand) Lord Dacre. (fn. 221) His heir was his brother Henry Otway (Trevor) Lord Dacre, whose second son Sir Henry-Bouverie-William Brand was created Viscount Hampden.

25 de abr. de 2024 · Henry de Cobham, 1st Baron Cobham, (1260-1339) was Lord Warden of the Cinque Ports in 1307. He also held the titles of Sheriff of Kent, Constable of Canterbury, Tonbridge, Dover and Rochester Castles, all in Kent, England.

Ironically, his only surviving son William Ætheling died in the sinking of the White Ship leaving Henry with only one legitimate child, his daughter Matilda.
Hace 5 días · He married Gertrude sister and heir of Charles Trevor Roper, Lord Dacre, and on his death in 1794 the Hoo came to his son Thomas Brand, Lord Dacre. He dying without heirs in 1851 was succeeded by his brother Henry Otway, who assumed the surname Trevor in accordance with the will of John Viscount Hampden.
