Charles Grey, 1st Earl Grey, KB, PC (circa 23 October 1729 – 14 November 1807) was a British Army general in the 18th century and a scion of the noble House of Grey. He was a distinguished soldier in a generation of exceptionally capable military personnel, serving crucially in the Seven Years' War (1756–1763), the American Revolutionary War and the French Revolutionary Wars .
Earl Grey married twice. He married Margaret Ann Bradford, daughter of Henry G. Bradford of Ashburton, Devon in 1966; they divorced in 1974. Later the same year on 17 August 1974 he married Stephanie Caroline, former widow of Surgeon-Commander Neil Lancaster Denham, RN , and only daughter of Donald Gaskell-Brown of Newton Ferrers, Devon.

He was the only son of Henry Grey, 3rd (6th) Baron Grey of Codnor, and Margaret Percy, daughter of Sir Henry Percy and Elizabeth Bardolf, daughter of William Bardolf, 4th Baron Bardolf. After her first husband's death, Margaret remarried Sir Richard de Vere, younger son of John de Vere, 12th Earl of Oxford, and died in 1464.
