Henry Hobson Richardson was an American architect, best known for his work in a style that became known as Richardsonian Romanesque. Along with Louis Sullivan and Frank Lloyd Wright, Richardson is one of "the recognized trinity of American architecture".
Richardson came to Harvard University in 1856 and stayed until 07/1859. He settled in Paris, France, in 09/1859, choosing that country spent the Civil War years in Europe, studying in Paris and elsewhere, and returned in 1865, at war's end. He got married in 1867 in Boston, MA, and set up his household on Staten Island, NY.
