Marquess of Anglesey. George Charles Henry Victor Paget, 7. Marquess of Anglesey DL, FSA, FRHistS, FRSL (* 8. Oktober 1922; † 13. Juli 2013 [1] ), bis 1947 unter dem Höflichkeitstitel Earl of Uxbridge bekannt, war ein britischer Peer und Politiker, der auch als Militärhistoriker und -autor bekannt wurde.
Field Marshal Henry William Paget, 1st Marquess of Anglesey (1768–1854), who married Lady Caroline Villiers, a daughter of George Villiers, 4th Earl of Jersey. They divorced in 1810 and she married George Campbell, 6th Duke of Argyll. [5] Captain William Paget (1769–1794), an MP who died unmarried. [4]
She married Henry Paget, 7th Marquess of Anglesey (8 October 1922 – 13 July 2013) on 16 October 1948, a year after he succeeded to the marquessate. They had met at the 1946 Paris peace conference. Queen Mary was a guest at their wedding as King George V was a godfather of the groom. [1] Their marriage produced three daughters and two sons.
Charles Churchill (grandfather) Charlotte Sloane Paget, Marchioness of Anglesey ( née Cadogan; 10 July 1781 – 8 July 1853), [1] formerly known as Lady Charlotte Wellesley, was the second wife of Henry Paget, 1st Marquess of Anglesey .
In 1912, she married Charles Paget, 6th Marquess of Anglesey, a British peer, farmer, and soldier, and thereby became the Marchioness of Anglesey. [6] Their wedding was performed by the Archbishop of Canterbury. [7] They had six children: [1] Lady Katharine Mary Veronica Paget (1922-2017).
Henry Paget, 2nd Earl of Uxbridge (22 January 1719 – 16 November 1769) was a British nobleman, styled Lord Paget from 1742 to 1743. The only son of Thomas Paget, Lord Paget , and his wife Lady Elizabeth, he was commissioned a cornet in the 1st (Royal) Regiment of Dragoons on 23 April 1742, shortly after the death of his father.
