  6. Helen was a popular vocalist of the 1940s Big Band era. She began her career touring with Jimmy Richards' nine-piece orchestra and joined Jimmy Dorsey's orchestra as lead female singer in 1939. With Dorsey she recorded hits such as "Green Eyes", "All of Me", "Tangerine" and was voted best female vocalist in 1940.
