7 de jun. de 2012 · The correct usage is "I am back in [some city]". The word "to" does not work with the verb "to be" in this context, since it's used as a preposition that means "toward" or "in the direction of". You cannot be to a location, but you can go to a location, as examples from other answers show. Add a comment.

7 de sept. de 2010 · I`ve just heard "back in town" but "Back to town" is correct? Thanks. Yo siempre digo "back in town" con el verbo "to be" eg. "I'm not back in town until the 15th". "Hey, George is back in town". "When you're back in town, give me a call". Y "back to town " con el verbo "to come". "He's coming back to town on the 15th".
Thin Lizzy. Letra. Traducción. Los chicos están de vuelta en la ciudad. The Boys Are Back In Town. ¿Adivina quién acaba de volver hoy? Guess who just got back today? Esos chicos de ojos salvajes que habían estado fuera. Them wild-eyed boys that had been away. No he cambiado, no tengo mucho que decir. Haven't changed, haven't much to say.
