What an inspired pairing, the glamorous yet bluesy Dakota Staton with the cool smooth George Shearing and his classic quintet! I first heard this album as a kid, it was one of my dad’s favorites (I still have it) and even back then it was a fascinating listen.

13 de may. de 2009 · Dakota Staton would go on to record several fine albums for Capitol Records, but none of those would match up the sales of her first early 1957 smash album "The Late Late Show" quickly followed with this late 1957 smash with The George Shearing Quintet "In The Night".
