Helen Gladstone (28 August 1849 – 19 August 1925) was a British educationist, vice-principal at Newnham College in Cambridge, and co-founder of the Women's University Settlement. Life. Gladstone was born in London.
The life of Helen Gladstone (1814-80), younger sister of William Ewart Gladstone, the pre-eminent statesman of nineteenth-century Britain, was an unhappy series of rebellions against a Victorian patriarchy that sought to manage her aberrant behaviour by grinding her into submission.
