St Mildred’s is a historic family Church of England Church in the heart of the Whippingham Community. This site has been a place of worship since at least Norman times, and was frequented by Queen Victoria when in residence on the Isle of Wight.

St Mildred's is the church of Whippingham Parish which used to extend to Shide (south of Newport) and North to the sea at East Cowes. The churches St Paul's Church, Barton and St James's Church, East Cowes were originally Chapels of Ease within the area of Whippingham Parish.
