Italo Svevo. Aron Ettore Schmitz, bedre kjent under pseudonymet Italo Svevo (født 19. desember 1861, død 13. september 1928 ), var en italiensk forfatter og forretningsmann, kjent særlig etter sin død for sine modernistiske romaner. Han var en venn av James Joyce som personlig gjorde sitt for at Italo Svevos forfatterskap ble kjent.
Italo Svevo (1861-1928), novelista italiano, pionero de la novela psicológica, y uno de los primeros escritores que utilizó las teorías psicoanalistas de Sigmund Freud. Italo Svevo es el seudónimo literario de Ettore Schmitz, nacido en el año 1861 en la ciudad de Trieste, que por entonces formaba parte del Imperio Austro-Húngaro.

At the time, Joyce is sending around copies of La coscienza di Zeno, and he sends one to Ferrieri as well. The book, however, passes unnoticed.
