13 de abr. de 2011 · James Hubert Ramsay, 17th Earl of Dalhousie was born on 17 January 1948. 1 He is the son of Simon Ramsay, 16th Earl of Dalhousie and Margaret Elizabeth Mary Stirling. 1 He married Marilyn Davina Butter, daughter of Major Sir David Henry Butter and Myra Alice Wernher, on 3 October 1973. 1
William Ramsay (d. 1672) was created Earl of Dalhousie in 1633, and further property (for example at Melrose (Roxburghshire) and in Fife) was acquired in the 17th century. Of these family estates, only those in Midlothian appear to have been retained by the 19th century.
James Hubert Ramsay, 17th Earl of Dalhousie (17 January 1948), married Marilyn Butter on 3 October 1973. They have three children and five grandsons: Lady Lorna Theresa Ramsay (6 February 1975) she married Fergus Lefebvre on 12 November 2005. They have three sons. From 1977 until 1992 he was Chancellor of Dundee University and in 1979 was appointed GCVO. He retired in 1992.
