James Strom Thurmond Jr. (born October 18, 1972) is a former United States Attorney for the District of South Carolina and 2nd Circuit Solicitor. He is one of four children born to long-serving United States Senator Strom Thurmond and Nancy (Moore) Thurmond.

J. Strom Thurmond, Jr. was born in Greenwood, SC and is the oldest son of Senator Strom Thurmond and Nancy Thurmond. A native of Aiken, Strom is a 1991 graduate of Aiken High School. He graduated from the University of South Carolina in 1995, and the USC law school in 1998.
In 22 years of practicing law, J. Strom Thurmond, Jr. is the only private attorney in South Carolina to have served as both a presidentially appointed United States Attorney and an elected Circuit Solicitor. Additionally, the firm has the highest possible rating (AV) from the Martindale Hubbell attorney rating service.
J. Strom Thurmond Dam. v. t. e. James Strom Thurmond Sr. (December 5, 1902 – June 26, 2003) was an American politician who represented South Carolina in the United States Senate from 1954 to 2003. Before his 48 years as a senator, he served as the 103rd governor of South Carolina from 1947 to 1951.
