21 de dic. de 2015 · Reply. On 21st December 1495, Jasper Tudor, 1st Duke of Bedford and 1st Earl of Pembroke, died at his manor at Thornbury at the age of around sixty-four. His entrails were buried at the parish church at Thornbury and the rest of his remains were laid to rest at Keynsham Abbey, according to the instructions he left in his will of 15th December.
The second son of Owen Tudor and Catherine of Valois, Jasper was created earl of Pembroke in 1452. He was one of the few die‐hard Lancastrians. Ruling Wales on behalf of Henry VI from 1457, he refused to come to terms with Edward IV after 1461.

Both he and his brother Edmund were half-brothers to King Henry VI. Jasper’s parents had secretly married around 1429 but had kept the marriage secret because Owen was a Welshman and a commoner.
