Jay Reincke was born in Chicago, Illinois on April 6, 1954. Actually John was his birth name but since his dad was also John Reincke, his parents, wanting to avoid confusion in the house, immediately nicknamed him Jay. How prophetic . He began performing in theater groups in the Chicago area while in grade school.
