17 de abr. de 2024 · Jean Prouvé est un architecte et designer français né en 1901 (à Paris) et mort en 1984 (à Nancy). Son père est sculpteur (Victor Prouvé), sa mère est pianiste. Son parrain est Emile Gallé, un maître verrier, fondateur de l'Ecole de Nancy (Art Nouveau). A 16 ans, il entre en apprentissage et devient par la suite ferronnier d'art.

Le plus connu des bâtiments signé Prouvé à Nancy est paradoxalement l’œuvre du moins connu de la famille Prouvé. L’ancien tri postal, construit en 1972 est la réalisation architecturale marquante de Claude Prouvé, le fils de Jean Prouvé.
