Jim Russell (racing driver) Herbert James Russell (28 May 1920 – 30 March 2019), better known as Jim Russell, was an English racing driver, garage owner and founder of the Jim Russell Racing Driver School. [1] He died on 30 March 2019, shortly after undergoing an operation for a hip replacement. [2]

3 de abr. de 2019 · Jim Russell’s school was also instrumental in the famous 1966 John Frankenheimer film Grand Prix, coaching the actors who were playing driving roles as well as overseeing the construction of replica Formula 1 cars based around junior single-seater machines, for the film’s racing scenes. Russell also had considerable success as a driver.
