Herbert James Russell (28 May 1920 – 30 March 2019), better known as Jim Russell, was an English racing driver, garage owner and founder of the Jim Russell Racing Driver School. He died on 30 March 2019, shortly after undergoing an operation for a hip replacement.

Racing school founder and treble British Formula 3 champion Jim Russell will be celebrated in a new two-day historic race meeting at Snetterton next spring.

Motor Sport is very sad to learn of the passing of Jim Russell, at the age of 98. Russell is best known for setting up his famous International Racing Drivers’ School at Snetterton in 1956.
