The group has existed in various forms since its founding in Long Beach, California. [2] Between 1976 and 1981, the band performed and recorded as the Dirt Band . Constant members since the early times are singer-guitarist Jeff Hanna and drummer Jimmie Fadden.

Another key member of that band was a boy named Jimmie Fadden, who would sit and play Dylan songs with Hanna, transfixed by the way Dylan’s music blended seemingly every roots music strain. Fadden would become Hanna’s lifelong partner in the groundbreaking, hit-making, Grammy winning, long-lived (since 1966), Dirt Band.

6 de may. de 2016 · Amazingly the group’s 50th anniversary tour features three of the original members — lead singer/guitarist Jeff Hanna, string player John McEuen, and drummer Jimmie Fadden — along with keyboardist Bob Carpenter, who joined in 1979. The tour begins at the Wilbur on Tuesday the 10th; we recently talked about the band’s long history with Jeff Hanna.
