Joaquim Alberto Chissano (født 22. oktober 1939) var den anden præsident i Mozambique. Han var præsident fra 6. november 1986 til 2. februar 2005. Chissano blev født i landsbyen Chibuto, Gaza i Mosamik. Han var involveret i FRELIMO-bevægelsen i 1960'erne, repræsenterede gruppen i Paris og kæmpede i guerillakrigen mod Portugal.
Joaquim Alberto Chissano was born on 22 October 1939 in the remote village of Malehice, in the district of Chibuto in Gaza province. He became the first black student enrolled at Liceu Salazar, and while completing his secondary education, became a member and then leader of the African Secondary School Students' Organisation in Mozambique (NESAM).
