23 de abr. de 2024 · John Everett Millais (1829-1896) known for integrating the Pre-Raphaelite Brotherhood, portrayed precious scenes from Shakespeare’s pieces. Among these productions, two scenes stand out: a scene with Ophelia, from the play Hamlet, and a scene with Lear and Cordelia, from the play King Lear.

23 de abr. de 2024 · She was featured in William Holman Hunt’s A Converted British Family Sheltering a Christian Missionary from the Persecution of the Druids (1849–50) and most famously in John Everett Millais’s Ophelia (1851–52). It was during her contribution to the latter painting, that she fell ill. Beauty was a matter of pain for Millais, too.
