John Flaxman Escultor e ilustrador inglés Nació el 6 de junio de 1755 en York (Inglaterra). Cursó estudios en la Royal Academy de Londres. Entre 1775 y 1787 realiza decoraciones en relieve, inspiradas en los modelos de las cerámicas griega y romana, para el ceramista Josiah Wedgwood.
