Hollandsworth read the first paragraph: “John McClamrock was the captain of the Hillcrest High School football team. On Oct. 17, 1973, while playing football, John’s neck was broken. With the constant and loving care from his mother and brother he lived the last 34 years as a quadriplegic.
On October 17, 1973, John McClamrock, a 17-year old junior at Hillcrest High School in Dallas, Texas broke his neck making a tackle. Though her son was paralyzed from the neck down, unable to lie with his head elevated off a flat bed, or even sit in a wheel chair, his mother, Ann McClamrock, rejected suggestions that the family place him in a nursing home or other institution for quadriplegia ...
John McClamrock, Beloved son and brother passed away on March 18th. John was born on March 24, 1956. He is survived by his mother Ann and brother Henry; sister in law Charlotte Adair; Nephews Cliff and Christopher Adair; Niece Catherine Thune; Cousin Frances Giron and husband Richard. John was the captain of the Hillcrest High School football team.
