3 de may. de 2024 · On September 25, 1771, Governor John Murray, fourth earl of Dunmore, arrived in Williamsburg. Following a brief period of popularity, he dissolved the General Assembly in May 1774 after its members protested the Coercive Acts, measures taken by Parliament in the wake of the Boston Tea Party.
