John Charles Walsham Reith, 1st Baron Reith (July 20, 1889 – June 16, 1971) was a Scottish broadcasting executive. As the general manager of the BBC, he established the tradition of independent public service broadcasting in the United Kingdom. Lord Reith was a man of high intelligence, great ambition, and rigid moral views.
Fue rector de la Universidad de Glasgow (1965-68). Tras su fallecimiento se conocieron detalles de su diario en los que mostraba su simpatía hacia Hitler y Mussolini. Autor de Broadcast Over Britain (1924), Into The Wind (1949), Wearing Spurs (1966) y The Reith Diaries (1975).
