La basílica de Saint-Denis (en español, san Dionisio) es una iglesia del Gótico primitivo o Gótico preclásico, célebre por ser la primera que se erigió en el estilo gótico, así como por ser el lugar de sepultura de la mayor parte de los reyes de Francia. Está situada en Saint-Denis, cerca de París.
A monument that has lived through troubled times. Looted during the Hundred Years' War and the Wars of Religion, the site experienced dark times, notably with the disappearance of the tomb of Saint Louis in the 15th century. Following the Revolution, in 1792, the monks had to leave their buildings, whose reconstruction had just been completed.

The Basilica of Saint-Denis is a large former medieval abbey church and present cathedral in the commune of Saint-Denis, a northern suburb of Paris. The building is of singular importance historically and architecturally as its choir, completed in 1144, is widely considered the first structure to employ all of the elements of Gothic architecture.
