Gerhard VI was the Count of Holstein-Rendsburg from 1382, and Duke of Schleswig as of 1386. Gerhard VI was born around 1367, the son of Count Henry II from the Rendsburg line of the House of Schauenburg and Ingeborg of Mecklenburg.
In 1397 after the death of their uncle Nicholas (Claus), with whom the nephews Albert II and the elder Gerhard VI had jointly ruled Holstein-Rendsburg, they partitioned Holstein-Segeberg (aka county of Stormarn) from Holstein-Rendsburg, with Albert receiving the new branch county in return for waiving his co-rule in Rendsburg.

El Conde Gerardo VI de Oldemburgo, llamado "el Pendenciero" (en alemán: Gerhard (Gerd) der Mutige von Oldenburg; 1430-22 de febrero de 1500), fue un Conde de Oldemburgo y regente de Bad Zwischenahn entre 1440-1482. Gerardo era el tercer hijo de Teodorico de Oldemburgo y su esposa, Helvig de Schauenburg.
