Kakinada (formerly called Kakinandiwada, Coringa, and Cocanada; listen ⓘ) is the sixth largest city of the Indian state of Andhra Pradesh and serves as the district headquarters of the Kakinada District. It lies on the coast of the Bay of Bengal.

Kakinada is a seaport—a barrier island to the east protecting its harbour—but it is now little used because the anchorage is 5 to 6 miles (8 to 10 km) offshore.
