Karin Månsdotter consists of three starkly distinct parts which retell the life of the low born concubine of Erik XIV. The first section recalls both Mélies and pupper-shows. It opens in colour, with Karin presented as a fairy-tale heroine, part Snow White, part Cinderella, in brief scenes with painted backdrops and between inserted titles.

16 de ene. de 2024 · The next day Karin Månsdotter was crowned queen of Sweden. A title she would not keep for very long. 87 days, to be precise. For by then, many of the noble families had had enough, and among them Erik’s brothers Johan and Karl. They rebelled against the king who, deserted by almost all, was forced to surrender in the end of September 1568.
