George of Cappadocia (Greek: Γεώργιος ό Καππάδοκης) died 24 December 361) was the intruding Arian bishop of Alexandria from 356 until his martyrdom. Biography [ edit ] George was born, according to Ammianus Marcellinus , at Epiphania in Cilicia, [1] and, if so, must have been Cappadocian only by descent.
