After the album’s release, Kirk Thompson left the band to pursue a solo career as a producer. His first project as writer, arranger, and producer, the self-titled (and only) album by new Hawaii band Lemuria, was released in 1979. Kalapana continued as a six-piece with the 1979 album Northbound.
