Krisztina Egerszegi is a Hungarian swimmer, the youngest athlete ever to win an Olympic gold medal in swimming. She won the 200-metre backstroke at the 1988, 1992, and 1996 Olympic Games, becoming only the second swimmer (after Dawn Fraser) to win an individual event at three Olympiads.

Krisztina Egerszegi established herself as one of the greatest backstrokers in swimming history. She won a gold and silver in the two backstroke events at the 1988 Olympics when only 14 years old. In 1992, she returned to win three individual gold medals, in the 100 metre backstroke, the 200 metre backstroke, and the 400 metre individual medley.
