Winter brought some songs from his previous band and became one of the Guess Who's primary songwriters. Leskiw occasionally contributed lead vocals. On July 17, 1970, the band was invited to perform at the White House for US President Richard Nixon 's family and guests, but they were asked not to play "American Woman" due to its apparent criticism of the United States. 7 de feb. de 2006 · Bachman was replaced by two guitarists: Kurt Winter, from the Winnipeg band Brother, and Greg Leskiw. Winter became Cummings’s primary songwriting partner. The first album with this new lineup was Share The Land (1970).
The album's title track includes the words: So long Bannatyne, hello my Chevrier home. The album's packaging and title track illustrate a transition in the life of Guess Who guitarist Kurt Winter moving from the city to the suburbs.
