Lady Margaret Caroline Leveson-Gower was born 02 November 1753 the youngest daughter of Granville Leveson-Gower, 1st Marquess of Stafford and his first wife, Lady Louisa Egerton. [1] Family. She married on 22 March 1770 by special licence, at her father's house in Whitehall, St Martin's-in-the-Fields, Frederick Howard, 5th Earl of Carlisle.

Lady Margaret Caroline Leveson-Gower (02 Nov 1753-27 January 1824). She married Frederick Howard, 5th Earl of Carlisle and was the mother of George Howard, 6th Earl of Carlisle. George Leveson-Gower, 1st Duke of Sutherland (9 January 1758 – 19 July 1833). Lady Anne Leveson-Gower (22 Feb 1761-16 November 1832).

On 22 March 1770, Frederick married Lady Margaret Caroline Leveson-Gower (died 27 January 1824), daughter of Granville Leveson-Gower, 1st Marquess of Stafford and his wife, Lady Louisa Egerton, herself the daughter of Scroop Egerton, 1st Duke of Bridgewater. [4] They had ten children:
