History. Film director Larry Fessenden founded Glass Eye Pix on November 2, 1986 [1] in order to copyright his own films, including Habit, Wendigo and The Last Winter. [2] [3] The name came from a glass eye one of his friends gave to him as a gift, combined with the old lingo from the trade magazine Variety which called movies "pix".
