Lea Katherine Thompson (born May 31, 1961) is an American actress and director. She is best known for her role as Lorraine Baines-McFly in the Back to the Future film trilogy (1985–1990) and Beverly Switzler in Howard the Duck (1986).
Lea Katherine Thompson was born on May 31, 1961, in Rochester, Minnesota. She is the youngest of five children. Her parents are Barbara Anne (Barry) and Clifford Elwin "Cliff" Thompson. Since all her siblings were much older than she, Lea says it seemed like she had more than two parents.
American actress Lea Thompson has performed in many well-known films and television series since the 1980s, among them Howard the Duck, the Back to the Future trilogy and Caroline in the City.
