The aim of the school is to produce a young theatre of new work, generating performance languages which emphasise the physical playing of the actor. Creative work is constantly stimulated, largely through improvisation, which is also the first approach to playwriting.

École internationale de théâtre Jacques Lecoq is a school of physical theatre previously located on Rue du Faubourg-Saint-Denis in the 10th arrondissement of Paris. In May of 2023 the school announced its departure from Paris and relocation to Avignon, where its next season training would commence that autumn.
Construit en 1876, le bâtiment se situe au 57 rue du faubourg Saint-Denis dans le 10e arrondissement de Paris. L’objectif de l’école est la réalisation d’un jeune théâtre de création, porteur de langages où le jeu physique du comédien soit présent.
