10 de dic. de 2023 · According to Wikipedia, Lefty Baker died of cirrhosis of the liver on August 11, 1971, in Los Angeles, California. He was only 32 years old. Lefty Baker’s death was a shock and a loss to the music industry and his fans. He was remembered as a talented and charismatic musician who had a bright future ahead of him.
It contained two popular songs, the previous summer's hit "Give a Damn" and "Yesterday's Rain" (#48 Canada). On August 11, 1971, Lefty Baker died of cirrhosis of the liver, about a year after he left the band. He was 32. The group briefly reformed in 1975 and recorded an album (Change) for the Epic label.

In early 1968, guitarist and vocalist Lefty Baker (real name Eustace Britchforth) was added to the band and his friend Kenny Hodges replaced Oz Bach on bass. Unhappy with the squeaky clean, polished sound that Jerry Ross had provided, the group turned to Stuart Scharf and Bob Dorough, a pair of producers / songwriters who had worked with The Chad Mitchell Trio on Mercury Records.
Eustace Baker was Lefty Baker from the 60's music group Spanky and Our Gang. He was the main vocalist on I'd Like to Get To Know You, and wrote Yesterday's Rain. Very talented banjo and guitar player.
