On August 11, 1971, Lefty Baker died of cirrhosis of the liver, about a year after he left the band. He was 32. The group briefly reformed in 1975 and recorded an album ( Change ) for the Epic label.

He was buried at Grand View Memorial Park and Crematory in Glendale, California, according to Find a Grave.

Eustace Baker was Lefty Baker from the 60's music group Spanky and Our Gang. He was the main vocalist on I'd Like to Get To Know You, and wrote Yesterday's Rain. Very talented banjo and guitar player.

In early 1968, guitarist and vocalist Lefty Baker (real name Eustace Britchforth) was added to the band and his friend Kenny Hodges replaced Oz Bach on bass.
Seiter and Spanky are the only members of Spanky and Our Gang still alive — Lefty Baker died in 1971, Oz Bach in 1998, Nigel Pickering in 2011 and Kenny Hodges in 2013.
